Video: Try jumping over a speeding Lamborghini Gallardo

For as much as we love a little daring-do here and there, some things are just way to dangerous for nonathletic blokes like us to pull off. Make no mistake, we enjoy occasional thrill-seeking exploits, but for the most part, the things that are too dangerous to do are probably best left to the talented or the mentally unstable.
Take this particular dude, for example. We don’t know if he’s the former or the latter, but we do know that he can jump really high and he’s got great timing.
It’s one thing to fake jumping over a car - hello there, Kobe Bryant! - but to actually do a legitimate jump on an actual Lamborghini Gallardo is all sorts of impressive.
Sure, the Gallardo was reportedly going only 50 mph, but its still a car and its still moving, making it a lot more dangerous than just jumping over a pile of boxes.
We applaud the gentleman for his successful jump, but under no circumstances will we come to trying that jump for ourselves. And even if we did, there’s a good chance that we probably won’t make it past the hood.

The Batman’s new auto obviosly will be a Lamborghini Aventador

With the Aventador LP 700-4, Automobili Lamborghini is redefining the very pinnacle of the world super sports car market -- brutal power, outstanding lightweight engineering and phenomenal handling precision are combined with peerless design and the very finest equipment to deliver an unparalleled driving experience.

In the past few years, supercars have been all the rage in blockbuster movies, having appeared in a growing number of them that involve superheroes. Iron Man began that trend when Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., was seen riding the Audi R8 a few years back. Since then, a lot of high-budget summer movies have taken to exotics to serve as the protagonist’s main ride, including the Audi R8 Spyder in Iron Man 2, the Ferrari 458 Italia in the about-to-be-released Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 in The Dark Knight.
We bring this up because, apparently, the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, will feature none other than the Lamborghini Aventador as Bruce Wayne’s new set of wheels.
A couple of photos were even snapped by a forum member of Luxury4play showing the Lamborghini supercar in full movie dress up, including plates that say "Gotham" to go with a slightly different, yet subtle, silver finish.
It’s unlikely that this Aventador is going to be the new Batmobile for the movie because it doesn’t have all the trinkets and gizmos that are mandatory for Batman’s crime-fighting ride. Chalk the Aventador up as the latest in Bruce Wayne’s growing auto garage. Let’s just hope that it doesn’t suffer the same fate as that of the Murcielago LP640 - it crashed heavily in one scene - in the Dark Knight.

Lamborghini on the fence between building the Estoque or the LM00X SUV

lamborghini on the fence between building the estoque or the lm00x suv picture

A few days ago, a report came out that Lamborghini is teaming up with Porscheto build its very own SUV that will be based on the latter’s latest GT architecture. While this news poses a shift in philosophy for the Raging Bull and could potentially undermine its tradition, the latest word - at least according to Car and Driver - is that Lamborghini is on the fence on which model will join the Gallardo and the Aventador in the lineup.
Apart from this long-rumored SUV - it’s been codenamed as the ’LM00X’ - the other choice is the production of the Estoque. The Italian automaker is considering both vehicles, but has made it known that only one is going to be green-lighted for production.
While no decisions have been made yet, the company is looking at October as the time to decide. As it stands the SUV has a slight edge over the Estoque because the car will be on a class of its own as far as high-end SUVs are concerned whereas the Estoque will have its hands full going up against competitors like the Porsche Panamera Turbo S, the Aston Martin Rapide, and the recently launched Ferrari FF.
The final decision is still a few months away, but it’s never too early to put your two cents in. For us, we prefer seeing the Estoque finally come alive after years of drooling over it. Besides, just like Ferrari, the words ’Lamborghini’ and ’SUV’ don’t belong in the same sentence.
Let us know which model you prefer in the comments section below.

Lamborghini Gallardo supperlegera twin turbo cruising Miami streets - without rear bumper

When we caught this Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera driving in Miami without rear bumper, we felt for the poor owner and his damaged toy. But as we were getting closer, we realized that the missing rear bumper was in fact a pretty cool way to show off its bi-turbo chromed internals.
The car was pretty driving slowly and we soon realized that it was on its way to a car show, but still pretty cool way to show of your Gallardo turbos.
Check the video for a taste of the turbocharged engine.

lamborghini aventador hits us roads picture

The Lamborghini Aventador has finally been spotted on US soil. What’s even better is that there were actually two of these supercars seen together: one black and one white.
The two Aventadors were being driven at Lamborghini Giro 2011 which takes place from June 11-15, 2011. Giro brings together like-mindedLamborghiniowners from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Brazil to enjoy the rugged scenery and spectacular driving of Arizona and Nevada. The four-night drive program takes place in Phoenix, Sedona, and Las Vegas, with outstanding luxury at each of the scheduled hotel accommodations.
The Lamborghini Aventadoris powered by a new 6.5-liter V12 engine with an AWD layout that produces 700 HP at 8,250 rpm and 509 lb-ft at 5,500 rpm. This engine will be able to get from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds while blasting off a top speed of 217 mph. Sales will begin in late summer 2011 at a price of $379,700.
