Kobe Bryant Scores A Ferrari 458 Italia For $329,000 wow!!

kobe bryant scores a ferrari 458 italia for 329 000 picture
For "normal" folks like us, making a six-figure purchase is tantamount to being kicked out of the house and forced to sleep on the curb. But for people like professional basketball player, Kobe Bean Bryant, $329,000 is pretty much chump change.
Sure, his recent divorce cost him half his fortune, but Kobe’s still got plenty of Benjamins coming his way, which makes his recent purchase of a 2012 Ferrari 458 Italia not much of a big deal to the Mamba. He paid for it full, too, with a check, which pretty much tells you that this is like buying groceries for this guy.
The price Kobe paid for his 458 Italia is about $100,000 more than the MSRP price of the Italian supercar, which leads to speculation - at least from our end - that he probably tricked out his new toy with plenty of additional options.
Either that or Kobe just got hosed for 100 grand by the dude who sold him the car.
In deference to the man, we’d prefer to believe the former since Kobe has never been shy about his growing fleet of exotics, particularly those with Italian heritage to it.
After all, he did grow up in Italy.

Pininfarina

Pininfarina stops producing cars; will instead focus on design

pininfarina stops producing cars will instead focus on design picture

Pininfarina, the epic auto design and coachbuilding company responsible for the likes of Ferrari and Maserati models, is taking its breakdown to the next level by announcing that it will no longer be producing cars. This news comes about two years after the company sold its auto assembly and painting business. From now on, Pininfarina will only be in the automotive design business.
"Unfortunately we are having to stop our production activities, given the way the car market is. So we are focusing on design and engineering," a Pininfarina spokesman said. Since this decision was made, Pininfarina has already begun laying off the first few of the 127 employees that will be losing their jobs, a task that is costing them a total of 2.9 million euro ($3,900,000 at the current exchange rates)
It didn’t seem as though Pininfarina had much choice in the matter considering their business had plummeted since the beginning of the economic crisis in 2008. There was a time when Pininfarina produced 40,000 vehicles in one year, and in 2010, that number dwindled down to 7,000. Now that their only focus will be on design, we expect to see great things from the Italian company.

2011 Ferrari 458 Italia "Twins" by Novitec Rosso

The Novitec Rosso-tuned Ferrari 458 Italia was first introduced to us last March at the Geneva Motor Show. Fast forward to today and the German automaker has released a couple of new iterations from the 458 Italia we saw last March, calling it the "Twins." No, we’re not talking about Skids and Mudflap fromTransformers 2; we’re talking about two blazing hot Ferrari 458 Italias that were re-tuned by the world famous Ferrari tuner from Stetten, Germany.
The pair of supercars pretty much look alike, hence the name "Twins". Both carry the same red and black finish with plenty of carbon fiber details and a number of new items including a new front spoiler, flaps on both sides of the central air inlet, fender-mounted carbon fiber ventilation louvers, and carbon fiber mirror housings. About the only thing that distinguishes one from the other are the three-piece Novitec Rosso NF3 wheels with one model receiving a gloss black finish while its counterpart receives a scarlet red finish.
As for the powertrain, the 458 "Twins" received the same engine upgrade we saw in Geneva in the form of a carbon-fiber airbox, a high-performance exhaust system, and an ECU remap. All these changes took the output of the 458 Italia’s 4.5-liter V8 engine from 570 horsepower all the way up to 609 horsepower at 9,100 rpm and a peak torque from 398 lb-ft all the way up 420 lb-ft.
Novitec Rosso has even released a preview video of the 458 "Twins", which we highly advise you watch, just so you can start drooling over this pair of Italian exotics that were given the best possible German upgrades.

2011 Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M Conversion Edition by Anderson Germany

ferrari scuderia spider 16m conversion edition by anderson germany picture

There aren’t exactly a ton of tuning kits for the Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16Msimply because there’s not much to change on the special edition to begin with. It’s cool, fast, beautiful, and, unfortunately, sold out. So what’s there to do if the itch for a Scuderia Spider 16M suddenly develops? Well, you can hop on the phone and give Anderson Germany a call, for starters. The tuning firm’s latest package allows ownership of a 16M style vehicle without the limited edition hurdle to jump over. The kit starts off with a Ferrari F430 Spider with a number of additions to not only make it 16M ready, but to allow for more horsepower as well.
The design aspect of the 16M Conversion Edition begins with a Hyper Blackpaint finish that is then combined with Scuderia Stripes in carbon steel with a yellow border. Carbon fiber elements are then put in and make up the engine grille, rear diffuser, mirrors, and covers under the hood. Other features that lend more to the 16M style include a front air dam, side skirts, a rear apron, and an adjustment of the exhaust system. The exterior is then finished off with a new set of 20" three-piece glossy black wheels with a carbon and yellow border to match the Scuderia stripes. The interior is a little less drastic with the addition of carbon black leather and Alcantara and yellow diamond Kederrand seams.
The greatest addition to the standard F430 is the extra horsepower pumping out of the 4,300 cc 90° V8 engine. With the help of a software optimization and new Renn-Kats headers and exhaust system, the 16M Conversion Edition can now run 570 HP, up from even the standard 16M’s 490 HP. The bonus 80 HP is then better handled with an adjustable suspension system.
